about
4 o clock, out of work, to the bar I go
To greet the weekend in front of me
Outta be quite a show
As drinks go down, across the room, her eye catches mine
As she blows smoke in my face, she asks me for a light
But I say!
That wasn't me though at all
It's a shame, it's a fraud
I tell you something ain't right
Our lips they started to fight
No clothes are in sight
I tell you it was the Night
...of The Doppelganger!
8 o clock, on the road, looking for some fun
Gonna stop at the local bank, for a hit and run
In a rage, shout my demands, the teller starts to run
Before she hands over the cash, that's when I produce the gun
But I say!
That wasn't me though at all
It's a shame, it's a fraud
I tell you something ain't right
Future not looking so bright
The alarm and the fright
I tell you it was the Night
...of The Doppelganger!
I know it's wrong
When it finally gets its way
Was it built or was it born?
I cannot tell, if I'll be free some day
Or if I'm doomed to burn
Midnight comes, I'm on the loose, now I'm seeing red
I should go home to the wife but I - grab my gun instead
Lurking the streets, when the cop rolls up, he asked me where I'd been
I cannot help but laugh when my - bullet meets his head
But I say!
That wasn't me though at all
It's a shame, it's a fraud
I tell you something ain't right
That wasn't me though at all
It's a shame, it's a fraud
I tell you it was the Night
...of The Doppelganger!

Recently discovered this band. IF their back catalogue, is as great as this I'll be adding them to my collection.
To my ears they sound like someone has blended early black sabbath with led zepplin's bluesier albums. A much welcome trip to the 70s hard blues heavy metal. welshwizzardd

If you like a mix of NWOBHM and classic Doom, you should take purchase this disc by very quickly!! Classic Doom in a 70s guise with cool breaks and NWOBHM melodies. I think Pentagram, Magic Circle or Pagan Altar fit here perfectly as comparison. Stephan

OMG, late to the party but this is some of the best occult infused doom stoner tackle I've ever heard. Reference points include Sabbath (obvs), especially with the Ozzy-esque vocals but there's also the melodiousness of early Heep mixing with a more contemporary occult rock sound. It starts in the 70's and makes it to the present day. The riffs are huge but it's their way with a hook that elevates this from your average doom/stoner fare. Very wonderful indeed! egg-magoo
The Philly rock juggernaut's debut LP is finally here, an electric rallying cry led, as always, by Tina Halladay's powerful voice. Bandcamp New & Notable May 10, 2017

Allow me to copy Pagan Altar's third album title to describe not only III:Pentecost but the whole discography of Wytch Hazel so far: well, yes, it's Magical and Mythical!!! A must-have for the lovers of 70's hard sound revival. BoneWalker
